…what this blog’s theme is gonna be in April?
First, just to remind you, April is for the blogging challenge A to Z. Posts will be more frequent (daily, except Sundays because even bloggers need to say hi to their families) and they’ll be structured according to the alphabet. Which is very cool but when you think about it, it’s a very, VERY big pool of topics to choose from.
Enter “theme”. Many bloggers decide to narrow down their options (and make their blogs stand out) by a cool and unique theme. Not everyone does this but I personally prefer it this way.
Today is when we officially reveal April’s theme in public so here we go!!
I wanted to combine music (coz what’s life without music?) with English (after all I’m teaching it) so the theme is:
Teaching English with Music
I’m challenging myself to bring music to the classroom: with activities, background or vocabulary. (Probably mostly vocabulary given our technical limits but I’ll try my best.)
I’ll share how it goes and when there’s nothing to report, I’ll bring you some music-related expressions to mull over.
Hope it sounds interesting, it’s a bit scary for me coz I can’t quite pre-schedule the posts so I’d better not run out of munition ☺
Any thoughts, advice, encouragement please? They’re most welcome.
Also if your theme is similar, I’d love to know! See you on the other side 😉
PS: pop over to my other blog for another music-related challenge 😉
That’s quite a challenge! I’ll wish you all the best in this journey. Have a fantastic challenge!

That’s such a great theme. I at one point wanted to be an English major in college (in the Netherlands, so English is my second language). It didn’t work out, but I’m sitll interested in language-learning. Music makes it more fun.

That’s a very cool theme! I used to teach English to children back when I lived in Poland, so music in the classroom is very interesting to me.
Once I encouraged children to pick a song we could work on (learning the vocabulary and translating the lyrics for fun), and one of my students (12 yo or something like that) suggested Rihanna… *facepalms*

Lol yeah that’s the thing, they all like different music! One of my classes like Bob Market do that should be fun though 😊

Oh, I love this… I was an ESL teacher for 10 years (a while back), and I often used music in the classroom, so I’m definitely interested in what ideas you’ll be brainstorming (and trying out!!) during April. Count me in for the journey!
Thanks for stopping over at Life In Dogs earlier, and for the lovely comment 🙂
